My microblading experience

April 8, 2017

In the last year or so eyebrows have become the focal point of every woman’s face. Approximately 10 years ago the trend was too have super thin, over-tweezed brows. I definitely took advantage of that trend in high school. My brows were very thin and I definitely over tweezed. My eyebrows have not been growing back in the “right” spots. I also have very light eyebrows – they are light light brown, almost blonde. I was so embarrassed of my eyebrows that I would draw them on before I did anything every morning. About 6 months to a year ago, my mom mentioned microblading to me (my mom also has very thin eyebrows – we both have to draw our eyebrows on everyday) and I finally decided to try it out.

The place that is the best for microblading in Jacksonville, Florida is Frangipani – sooo many people recommended Frangipani to me. I finally decided to make an appointment with Courtney. She was great – I definitely recommend her! Courtney’s brow instagram is: thebrowbabe_

The appointment took about 2 – 2.5 hours. First, Courtney went over details about microblading, aftercare, etc. Next, she drew on brows as a guide. I then approved the brows and she made a few corrections that I asked her to change. She then puts a topical numbing cream on your brows – so you don’t feel anything! She then begins the microblading process – I can’t exactly explain everything because I was laying there with my eyes closed (basically it involves putting ink into your skin but not as deep as a tattoo goes.) After she was done, I looked in the mirror and was so excited to see that I have thicker, real looking, beautiful brows!

The best part of microblading is that it is semi-permeant which is perfect since brow shapes constantly change! I am too afraid to tattoo my brows on forever. I go back to Courtney in about six weeks for a touch up appointment. So the pictures of my brows now are technically not the final product. *I will do another post after my touch up appointment *

The microblading appointment was $500 + tip. (I tipped 20%). The price includes the touch up appointment because that appointment is necessary. Below I included my before and after pictures – the difference is crazy! Let me know if you have any questions about microblading.

Can you take a pic of your brows now that it’s been almost a year since you had the microblading please.

Yes, but I’ve had a touch up done since! And I have another touch up scheduled next month. I get touch ups about every 7 months or so.
