Hi friends! Big news… WE ARE HAVING A BABY!
I nicknamed the baby, Baby C since our last name starts with a C.

How far a long am I?
I am 13 weeks! Fresh out of the first trimester – woo! Baby is the size of a lemon.
What is my due date?
January 8, 2019!
When did I find out?
I found out fairly early, at about 4 weeks (the weeks start from the day of your last period). It has been such a hard secret to keep. We told family around 5 weeks and then started telling some close friends. It is hard to hide the fact that you aren’t drinking wine at dinner!
Was it planned or a surprise?
Surprise! 🙂
How we found out?
Tommy and I were watching tv on a Monday night and we were about to open a bottle of wine. I just had a weird feeling and I looked at Tommy and I said, “what if I am pregnant?” And Tommy looked at me and said, “go upstairs and pee on a stick!” (…he is not proper by any means lol). So I went upstairs and took a pregnancy test. I really didn’t think there was a chance that it could be positive. The first line (the control line) shows up and then a verrrry faint second line showed up. I grab the test, with my hands shaking, and yell Tommy’s name. He doesn’t respond, probably because he can’t hear me, so I start walking downstairs with the test. I make it downstairs and look at Tommy and say, “Tommy, I need you to come look at something because it kind of looks like something but I can’t really tell!” Tommy looks at it for two seconds and goes, “yep, you are pregnant!” And then he proceeded to read the box and the box reads, “no matter how faint the lines are, if there are two, it is a positive result.”
I was totally shocked and in the days/week following that, I took ten pregnancy tests LOL! I needed to make sure that I was really pregnant because the doctor’s office won’t see you until 8 weeks or so. After the initial shock, we got super excited and happy! Now, we are really excited and talk about the baby every day! The best part, so far, was when we went to the doctor together for the first appointment – we got to see the little babe and hear the heartbeat!
When do we find out if it is a boy or girl?
My next doctor’s appointment is August 1st and we are going to have another ultrasound to determine the gender! Hopefully the baby is in the right position to see it, because if not, we have to come back another time. I will be 17 weeks by then.

How am I feeling?
Overall, I am feeling great! I am just soooo tired. I am starting to get my energy back but I usually want to take a nap around 3-4pm everyday (but I can’t because work). I was a little nauseous in the beginning but really it was not bad. I definitely have food aversions. Certain food repulses me. Some food that I LOVED (avocado) before I was pregnant, I have not wanted at all. It is so weird!
Cravings?
I’ve always loved potatoes but I crave a baked potato every day. I also love publix veggie wraps with pepper jack cheese and buffalo sauce. I have a sweet tooth too – jelly beans, sour patch kids, and caramel.
Am I showing?
No, not really. Usually by the end of the day my tummy sticks out a little probably from food and water. But when I wake up the next morning, it is pretty flat again.
What am I reading?
Brain Rules for Baby by John Medina. Tommy and I listened to it on Audiobooks in the car during a weekend trip. It was good and we learned a lot!
