My hair before and after I got tape-ins for the first time! My natural hair is a lot longer now.
I get a lot of questions about my hair! I like to be really transparent about things especially my hair because it isn’t all natural! I do wear extensions! Today, I am answering some questions that I am frequently asked.

Do I have extensions?
Yes, I have tape-in extensions. My extensions are taped into my hair. I wear Hair Dreams Quikkies tape-ins. My stylist color matches me and I order my extensions through the salon.
How often do I get my hair done?
I get my hair done approximately every 5-6 weeks.
Do I tone it in between getting my roots done?
No, I do not do anything to my hair in between getting my roots done. My hair is maintained by going to the salon regularly.
What color do you ask for?
I don’t ask for a specific color. I told my stylist that I wanted to be platinum, white blonde. My stylist formulates a color. He then bleaches and tones my hair. I already had blonde hair when I started getting my hair done with Hayden.
How much do they cost?
The hair costs about $1200 for 18 “sandwiches” that are 20 inches long. A sandwich consists of the two pieces of hair that are sandwiched together with a special type of tape around your real hair. You have to buy new hair every once in awhile. Depending how well you take care of the hair, I would say you purchase it every 6-9 months. To put the tape-ins in, it is $10 per sandwich. To take the tape-ins out for bleach and to move them up with new growth, it is $10 per sandwich. I currently wear 18 pieces. Every time I go to the salon, we take all the hair out and then put it back in after my bleach and tone.
How often do you buy new hair?
I buy new hair approximately every 6-9 months. It just depends on the shape the hair is in. Every time I go in for a hair appointment, we trim the hair. I like my extensions long so that is why I sometimes order new hair sooner than later.
What hair products do I use?
I use Kerastase products! I love them.
Any issues with extensions tearing out?
I had an extension slip out one time but it was over a year ago. I think I was a little rough on an extension that had grown out and my hair was also wet. The extensions are super low maintenance other than a regular visit to the salon. I treat them just like my real hair.
Why do you wear extensions?
I wear them for length and thickness. My hair has gotten a lot longer since I first started getting my extensions done. I have very fine hair that looks thin so I love having my extensions in for thickness. The extensions also hold curl really well. Sometimes I can curl my hair and the curls still look great a few days later!
