cute athleisure + my favorite work out

September 15, 2017

I love athleisure – it’s perfect for work around the house, running errands, and actually working out! I looove Alo and Zella leggings (#1-4). Since starting Pure Barre almost two years ago, I have started collecting more and more leggings and cute workout tops/sports bras.

Pure Barre is a 55 minute class offered at Pure Barre studios. I really like it because it focuses on the main woman “problem areas” – arms, abs, butt, and thighs. This is this first time I have stuck with working out for a long time (I have taken a couple months break throughout my 2 years at Pure Barre due to school, traveling, being sick, etc.). One of my favorite parts: you don’t wear shoes, just socks! Pure Barre just launched a new class, Pure Empower. Pure Empower is more cardio based class – it is 10 minutes shorter but you burn more calories and sweat way more (in a regular pure barre class sometimes you don’t get sweaty at all)! Pure Barre also focuses on lengthening your muscles and making them lean. The classes are always pretty difficult because the teachers change the routines often (adding new moves/exercises) so different muscles are always being worked. In addition, the difficulty of the class makes you forgot outside distractions and causes you to focus and have a “mind body connection.”

I now feel that I have to do some sort of exercise each day or at least every other day even if it is just taking my dogs on a walk! I just realized that I am happier and feel so much better overall when I do something “good” for my body. The other thing that I make sure I do everyday is to drink lots of water! Tommy told me the other day that my body has become a lot more toned since we first started dating! 🙂

My Travel Diary: The Breakers Weekend

September 8, 2017

Hi everyone! I have not been blogging lately because I went out of the country and just have been pretty busy lately with wedding planning, etc.

I wanted to do a post about my trip to The Breakers last month which is located in Palm Beach, Florida. It is about a four hour drive from my house in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. The resort is absolutely gorgeous! It was such a nice getaway with my fiancé! They upgraded our room from partial ocean view to full ocean view. We really didn’t leave the resort the whole time because they pretty much have everything at the resort property (and we were only there for a weekend).

We spent Saturday early afternoon at the pool! The frozen skinny margaritas were delish!

We got to The Breakers late Friday night. After we checked in, we went up to our room to get ready to go out. We ended up at HMF (inside the resort) which is a bar/ restaurant. We ordered appetizers and a bottle of wine. HMF had a DJ playing music while we ate and drank.  The next morning we woke up and headed to brunch. Brunch was absolutely delicious. I am not  a breakfast person and I thought the brunch was soooo good. There was so much to choose from. We decided to skip lunch since we ate a lot at brunch. Tommy and I spent the afternoon at the pool. There are multiple outdoor pools, including an adult only pool. Later, we met one of my good friends from law school and her sister, at the Seafood bar for drinks and appetizers. After that, we headed to dinner at the Flagler Steakhouse. Everywhere we ate was  delicious…calories don’t count on vacation 🙂

The next morning we relaxed until check-out. We drove around the Island and explored some before heading back home. In conclusion, we loved our weekend get away to The Breakers! I am hoping to return soon!
